Welcome to our review of Fairfield Lake State Park campground.
General Information:
Fairfield Lake State Park occupies 1,460 acres northeast of the City of Fairfield in Freestone County. A man-made lake built by the Texas Utilities, it serves as a cooling system for its new power plant.
Boating, fishing, water skiing, swimming, hiking, horse riding, and bird watching are all popular recreational activities at Fairfield Lake State Park. Click on the “More Information” tab above to learn more.
Beautiful View:
Other than looking at the map on the Reserve America web site (click on the “Reservations” tab above), there is no definitive source of information on which camp sites are lakefront. According to the state maintained web site, many of the 36 water (hookup) only campsites are lakefront with views of Fairfield Lake.

Campground Details:
Fairfield Lake State Park has three camping areas on Fairfield Lake and includes128 water and electric sites and 36 with water only. All camp sites are shaded and include a picnic table, fire pit, and a lantern holder. There is also a hike-in primitive camping area (at the end of a 6-mile, round-trip hiking trail). Amenities include restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. A dump station is available at the park.
Although this state park is open year round, there may be restrictions on the camping season, so call the state park for more information on campground opening and closing dates. For more information on the state park or campground call (903) 389-4514.
