Boating, water skiing, and swimming are popular at Emma Long Metropolitan Park. The park includes two boat ramps and has a designated swimming area on Lake Austin with a large sandy beach.

Golfing is available about 5 miles outside the park at River Place and hiking is available at Turkey Creek Nature Trail, a 2.5-mile trail along Turkey Creek.
