Welcome to our review of Lake Hartwell State Recreation Area campground.

General Information:
Located in Fair Play, SC about 50 miles from Greenville, 680 acre Lake Hartwell State Recreation Area (SRA) is situated along the 56,000-acre Lake Hartwell. Lake Hartwell SRA is located just off Interstate 85 at the South Carolina-Georgia border and serves as a gateway to South Carolina’s mountain country on the Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Highway (S.C. 11). Boating and fishing are popular recreational activities at Lake Hartwell State Recreational Area. Click on the “More Information” tab above to learn more.

Beautiful View:
Per the reservations web site, the following camp sites are “Lakefront” and should have views of Lake Hartwell: 5-6, 34-39, 41, 43, 45, 47-50, 53-54, 56-59, T001-T013, 71, 73-75, 89-89, 92, 94, 96, 98

Campground Details:
The campground includes 115 paved sites with individual water and electrical hook-ups and can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. There are also thirteen walk-in tent sites (all lake front). Other amenities include restrooms with flush toilets, and hot showers. A dump station is located in the park. Although this state park is open year round, there may be restrictions on the camping season, so call the state park for more information on campground opening and closing dates.
