Welcome to our review of Hickory Knob State Park campground.
General Information:
Hickory Knob Sate Park, 48 miles from August, GA is a 1,091 acre full-service resort located on the shoreline of the 70,000-acre Strom Thurmond Reservoir on the Savannah River referred to as South Carolina’s “West Coast.” As a resort, it offers 18 holes of lakeside championship golf, tennis, skeet shooting and archery, a swimming pool, full-service restaurant and meeting facilities and more than 70 lodge rooms. Boating, fishing, biking, hiking and golfing are all popular recreational activities at Hickory Knob State Park. Click on the “More Information” tab above to learn more.
Beautiful View:
Per the reservations web site, the following camp sites are “Lakefront” and should have views of Strom Thurmond Lake: 8-17, 19-21, 22-24 in the small loop.

Campground Details:
The campground has about 38 camp sties. All sites are back-in with driveway lengths between 40-80 feet composed of packed gravel. Each site has individual water and electrical hookups and a picnic table. Other campground amenities include restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. A dump station is located in the park. Although this state park is open year round, there may be restrictions on the camping season, so call the state park for more information on campground opening and closing dates.
