Welcome to our review of Dreher Island State Recreation Area campground.

General Information:
Dreher Island State Recreation Area (SRA) consists of three islands, 348 acres and 12 miles of shoreline on Lake Murray linked to the mainland by a causeway and two bridges. Only about 30 miles from Columbia. Lake Murray is one of the best-known largemouth and striped bass fishing destinations in the South. Two lakefront camping areas have scenic views and easy access to the shoreline of Lake Murray. Boating, fishing and hiking are all popular recreational activities at Dreher Island State Recreational Area. Click on the “More Information” tab above to learn more.

Beautiful View:
Per the reservations web site, the following camp sites are “Lakefront” and should have views of Lake Murray: 5, 7, 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21-23, 25, 27, 31-34, 36-37, 39, 41, 43, 47, 49, 51, 53-55, 57-58, 60-61, 73-74, 76, 78-79, 81, 83, 85, 87, 89, 91, 93-97, T1-T7, T11-T15.

Campground Details:
Two lakefront camping areas have scenic views and easy access to the shoreline of Lake Murray with Ninety-seven paved sites for both RVs and tents and 15 sites for tent campers only. Each site has water and electrical hook-ups and a picnic table. Many sites accommodate RVs up to 45 feet, others up to 30 feet. Amenities include restrooms with flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station.
