Welcome to our review of Devils Fork State Park campground.

General Information:
Located five miles north of Salem off S.C. 11, the Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Highway, Devils Fork Sate Park borders the southwestern shore of Lake Jocassee. The State Park provides the only public access to the lake – a 7,500-acre reservoir tucked deep into the Blue Ridge. The scenic highway itself should be a delight to travel on. The Cherokees called the area the "Great Blue Hills of God." Boating, fishing and hiking are all popular recreational activities at Devils Fork State Park. Click on the “More Information” tab above to learn more.

Beautiful View:
Per the reservations web site, the following camp sites are “Lakefront” and should have views of Lake Jocassee with some having views of the distant Blue Ridge Mountains: 1-13, 34, 35, 37, 39-41, T10, T12-18, T21-25

As always, for a better sense of the views available at this campground or any campground featured in Camping With A View, make sure you look at the photos and read some of the reviews from other campers by clicking on the links found in the campground menu at the top of this page.

Campground Details:
Two campgrounds are located near the shores of Lake Jocassee with a total of 117 camp sites. Amenities include restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, laundry facilities and a dump station. The main lakeside campground has 59 paved sites with water and electrical hook-ups and can accommodate RVs up to 36 feet. While tent campers may use these sites, there is also a designated rustic tent camping area.

Boat-in backcountry campsites are located on the northern shore of Lake Jocassee at the base of Musterground Mountain. The area is accessible only by boat and is open year-round.

Although this state park is open year round, there may be restrictions on the camping season, so call the state park for more information on campground opening and closing dates. For more information on the state park or campground call (864) 944-2639.
