Welcome to our review of Baker Creek State Park campground.

General Information:
Baker Creek State Park is located on the shores of Lake Thurmond about 43 miles from Augusta, Georgia and 4 miles west of McCormick, South Carolina. It’s just a few minutes from Hickory Knob State Resort Park, with its golf course, restaurant and other full-service resort offerings. About half of the camp sites at the Baker Creek campgrounds have beautiful views of Strom Thurmond Lake. Fishing, boating, hiking and biking are popular recreational activities at Baker Creek State Park. Click on the “More Information” tab above to learn more.

Beautiful View:
Per the reservations web site, the following camp sites are “Lakefront” and should have views of Lake Thurmond: 25-39, 31-34, 37-38, 40-41, 43-48, 53-54, 56-57, 62-63, 65-66, 73, 75, and 86-95.

Campground Details:
There are 94 sites in all located in two campgrounds with restrooms, flush toilets and hot showers. A dump station is available. Campground #2 includes sites with individual water and electrical hookups with some sites accommodating RVs up to 40 feet and others up to 30 feet. Campground #1 is ideal for tent campers. Each site includes individual water with no electricity.

Although this state park is open during the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons, there may be restrictions on the camping season, so call the state park for more information on campground opening and closing dates. For more information on the state park or campgrounds call 864-443-2457.
