Canoeing and kayaking are available on South Creek with a ramp located within the campground and one at the ranger station. Canoes are available for rent at the park. Mangrove trees, Giant Leather Fern, and Cabbage Palms can be seen growing along the edge of the creek and Great Blue Heron, Little Blue Heron, and Ospreys are just a few of the birds native to the park and that you may see while boating down the creek. Alligators and otters can also occasionally be seen in the creek.

Freshwater and saltwater fishing are available at the park. Lake Osprey, a three acre freshwater lake, has bream, bluegill, largemouth bass and channel catfish and South Creek provides saltwater fish.

Swimming is available at a beach on Lake Osprey.

One more interesting and unique feature of the park worth mentioning is two Butterfly Gardens on the Lester Finley Barrier Free Trail.
