Welcome to our review of Faver-Dykes State Park campground.

General Information:
Faver-Dykes State Park is located near St. Augustine, Florida and borders Pellicer Creek, a popular site for birding. Pellicer Creek is also a designated state canoe trail and visitors can rent canoes at the park. The park is pristine and a little more rustic and remote than other Florida state parks. You have to drive a few miles along a dirt road before arriving at the entrance; but it’s only about 15 miles south of St. Augustine. Wildlife viewing is very good here. In addition to over one hundred species of birds seen during spring and fall migrations, the park is home to deer, turkeys, hawks, bobcats, and river otters.

Beautiful View:
As with many Florida campgrounds, the camp sites are enclosed by beautiful, lush, tropical vegetation which in itself provides a beautiful view right from your campsite. The foliage also provides a good amount of privacy. I don’t have any specific campsite recommendations for this park. The campground is a distance from the creek which can’t be seen from any of the campsites. In general, the native tropical vegetation is the main attraction of the campsites themselves and is found at most, if not all, of the twenty campsites.

As always, for a better sense of the views available at this campground or any campground featured in Camping With A View, make sure you look at the photos and read some of the reviews from other campers by clicking on the links found in the campground menu at the top of this page.

Campground Details:
The campground includes twenty back-in campsites that will accommodate RVs between 20 – 35 feet in length. Thirty amp electric service is available at all sites and the campground has modern restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. Water hookup is also provided at most of the RV sites. All Florida state parks are open year-round; but there may be restrictions on the camping season. Call the state park for more information on campground opening and closing dates. For more information on the state park or campground call 904-794-0997.

Summary:
Faver-Dykes State Park is pristine and remote offering attractive and fairly private and spacious campsites for a great “get away from it all” camping experience.
