Welcome to our review of Blackwater River State Park campground.
General Information:
Blackwater River State Park is located in the western part of Florida’s panhandle in Holt, Florida. The campground is located just a few minutes walk from Blackwater River although you can’t actually see the river from any of the camp sites.
Beautiful View:
The camp sites are surrounded by beautiful tall deciduous trees providing a very attractive view from the campsite. Although none of the sites have a direct view of the Blackwater River, some are a little closer to it. Based on the map provided on the reservations web site, sites six through twelve seem to be little closer than other campsites to the river.

Campground Details:
Blackwater River State Park campground is a relatively small campground with only twenty-seven sites, all back-in sites with an average parking spur of 25 – 45 feet. All of the sites have fifty amp electrical service. Water hookup is also provided at most of the RV sites. The park has a dump station, potable water, and modern restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. All Florida state parks are open year-round; but there may be restrictions on the camping season. Summary:
The main draw of Blackwater River State Park is the Blackwater River. Pristine with cool waters and white sand beaches lining the river, this is a great place for swimming, canoeing and kayaking while enjoying the stunning and beautiful views all along this state designated canoe trail. Enjoy this river for more than a day and camp at the state campground, just a few minute walk from the river.
