Campers appreciate the location and close proximity of the campground to Hearst Castle. They also like the spacious campsites at the lower campground (San Simeon Creek) and report that the park is relatively quiet. In general, they report that the sunsets are “breathtaking” and appreciate the short walk to the beach. Beware, that several campers reported that the area can be very windy at times. Those campers who have camped at the upper or Washburn campground enjoyed the views of the ocean and mountains.
