While at the campground, take a 3.2 mile round trip hike starting at the Cloisters about a half mile from the campground to Morro Rock.

Birding is also a popular activity here, especially in the winter when flocks of migratory waterfowl including ruddy ducks, widgeons, buffleheads, pintails, grebes, loons, terns and black winter here.
