Welcome to our review of Clear Lake campground.

General Information:
At 43,000 acres, Clear Lake is the second largest freshwater lake in California and at 150,000 years old, it may be the oldest lake in the U. S. It is home to seven archeological sites and is designated as an important bird area by Audubon with over 100 species of birds including geese, osprey, bald eagles and many more. The lake is popular for swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking and water-skiing. Fish include large mouth bass, crappie, bluegill and channel catfish – the lake is has been designated as the number one bass lake in the nation.

Beautiful View:
Many sites are right on the water and have excellent views of Clear Lake. Look at the map at the reservations web site (click on “Reservations” above) to find camp sites near the water and then call campground personnel at 707-279-4293 to confirm whether the sites have views of the lake.

As always, for a better sense of the views available at this campground or any campground featured in Camping With A View, make sure you look at the photos and read some of the reviews from other campers by clicking on the links found in the campground menu at the top of this page.
