"...The campground is composed of four loops - Tree Army, Mess Hall, Spike Camp, and Barracks. It is the former site of the Granite Flat Camp F-5, established in 1933 as the first Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp in Utah. The campground, at the edge of the Lone Peak Wilderness, has some great views of the surrounding mountains in a pleasant blend of spruce, Aspen, and other deciduous trees. Although some sites have little noonday shade, a continuous breeze keeps things comfortable. A lush understory and middlestory provide good privacy. A baseball diamond, still used today, was built by the CCC enrollees of Granite Flat Camp. Firewood is available for a fee...

... A possible day trip is to the Timpanogos Cave National Monument, which is west of the campground off State Rt. 92...

...NOTE: There is an "area user fee" of $3 per day, or $10 for 14 days, or $25 annual...

...NOTE: Entrance gate secured from 10PM to 7AM...

...The parking aprons are paved..."
