A description of this campground can be found at the following web site: U.S. National Forest Campground Guide After going to this site, depending on your web browser, you may need to scroll down to the name of this campground. Campgrounds are in alphabetical order. Below is an excerpt of comments about this campground found at this site:

"...The campground, adjacent to Boulder Creek Wilderness, has two unnamed sections stretching beside the North Umpqua River. The east section is more open with most of the campsites along the river's edge. Moss is the primary ground cover and mature Douglas fir and cedar provide good shade. The western section has a semi-tropical feel with lichen-draped trees and thick patches of fern. Few sites in this section are on the water's edge. The river's sounds compete with traffic noise from State Rt. 138 and thick middlestory provide good privacy between campsites. The river also features challenging whitewater runs as well as world famous Steelhead trout springtime runs. Gas, limited groceries and some RV supplies are available at Dry Creek Store, 3 miles west of campground...

...The parking aprons are paved; those in the western section are longer. Grey water disposal sites are scattered around campground...

... An RV waste station is available, for a fee, east at Diamond Lake campground (Forest Service) or West Elk Haven RV Park (private)...

...Potable water is available at Horseshoe Bend campground...

...North Umpqua River has 33.8 miles of Class I through Class IV whitewater..."
