"...The campground is a single loop located about half way between Hebgen Reservoir and Earthquake Lake. It is across from Madison River in a valley among mature pines and Douglas fir. Cabin Creek runs alongside campground. A must visit is the Forest Service's Earthquake Lake Visitor Center on the other end of the lake. It tells the story of the earthquake of 1959 that formed Earthquake Lake. Viewing the 80 tons of rock and dirt that tumbled down to form the dam creating the lake, is both awesome and terrifying. A small entry fee is charged to the Visitor Center - it's worth it! ...

...The parking aprons are gravel. Many aprons are wider then they are long. Parking aprons are not the traditional single spurs because sites are grouped together in two's and three's - walk in a few feet to the picnic table and grille..."
