A description of this campground can be found at the following web site: U.S. National Forest Campground Guide After going to this site, depending on your web browser, you may need to scroll down to the name of this campground. Campgrounds are in alphabetical order. Below is an excerpt of comments about this campground found at this site:
"...The campground is composed of three loops - A, B and C and located on the eastern end of Earthquake Lake. Overall, the campground is composed of pines and Aspen tree groves along with large fields of wildflowers. There are several Lilly pod covered ponds in Loop A. Loop B is located along hilltop and has more Aspen then pine. Loop C is closest to Earthquake Lake, but none of the sites have a view of the lake. The Campground is very picturesque and appears well suited for wildlife watching. Take a walk along the lake beside Loop C. The views of the mountains and grassy fields are spectacular. According to campers, Bald Eagles can be spotted. Osprey and their nests are visible. A must visit is the Forest Service's Earthquake Lake Visitor Center on the other end of the lake. It tells the story of the earthquake of 1959 that formed Earthquake Lake. Viewing the 80 tons of rock and dirt that tumbled down to form the dam creating the lake, is both awesome and terrifying. A small entry fee is charged to the Visitor Center - it's worth it!...
...Parking aprons are grass and gravel...
...There is no boating access to Earthquake Lake from the campground. However, there is boat ramp 0.5 miles west of campground on US Rt. 287..."
