Beautiful View:   Lake and Mixed Forest

Chewalla Lake campground is in a mixed forest with beautiful dogwoods in bloom during mid Spring. Chewalla Lake, a name derived from the Choctaw Indian word, "chihowa-la", means The Supreme Being.

Best Sites: Per ranger district personnel, about 6 sites in the lower loop of campground sites have views of the lake.
