A description of this campground can be found at the following web site: U.S. National Forest Campground Guide After going to this site, depending on your web browser, you may need to scroll down to the name of this campground. Campgrounds are in alphabetical order. Below is an excerpt of comments about this campground found at this site:

"...This campground is one of the largest in the Land Between the Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area. Five Areas, identified as A, B, C, D, and T, stretch along the southeast shore of Kentucky Lake, between Moss Creek and Pisgah Bay. The sites on the campground's many loops and spurs are on curly-curl roadways linked to each other and the Lake by a variety of trails and connector paths nestled among oak, hickory, and Loblolly pine around manicured grounds. The camp sites have a "forest experience" feel but with many of the conveniences found in a private campground resort. It is a "full-service" campground. The lack of understory provides minimal privacy for campers. The campground offers a wide range of "basic" camping levels. Some Areas, such as B, have sites tucked in among trees and roofless, open air flush toilets. Other Areas, like D and T, have sites with hook-ups packed close together, while Areas A and B have sites with limited hook-ups and are widely spaced. The campground offers campsites with no hook-ups, as well as full, water and electric, and electric only hook-ups. Hillman Ferry campground has a lot to offer besides a camp site. There are playgrounds, a lighted ball field, snack shacks, amphitheater, archery range, modern bath houses (with coin operated washers and driers), fish cleaning stations, and a recreation program (check fee board for schedule). Even band concerts are an occassional activity at the campground. And there are a wide variety of possible day trips close by. A few are Golden Pond Visitor Center and Planetarium, trail rides at Wrangler campground, Elk & Bison Prairie, The Homeplace, Nature Station and, of course, Welcome Stations at the North and South end of the NRA. The campground features the Hillman Ferry Outpost which offers various limited groceries, camping supplies and recreation equipment, such as canoes and bicycles and rentals. Besides 24 hour security, the campground offers ice, firewood, and tick spray for sale. Ticks and skunks are two potential problems campers should be prepared for. The campground has been described as "cozy", "complete", "perfect", and much more. With so much happening in and around this campground, it is a great destination...

...Parking aprons are gravel. Interior road is paved. This campground can accommodate any size RV...

...Kentucky Lake is 160,300 acres. The beach is sandy..."
