A description of this campground can be found at the following web site: U.S. National Forest Campground Guide After going to this site, depending on your web browser, you may need to scroll down to the name of this campground. Campgrounds are in alphabetical order. Below is an excerpt of comments about this campground found at this site:

"...The campground straddles a peninsula along Pisgah Bay off Kentucky Lake. It has one cluster of camp sites at entrance and then another a half mile away, near the boat ramp. This location provides campers with views of Pisgah Bay and excellent opportunities to watch the Drag Boat Races held on the Bay - one per month during the summer. The mixed hardwoods provide good shade but little privacy between sites. Possible day trips are the North and South Welcome Stations, Golden Pond Visitor Center, the Planetarium, Elk and Bison Prairie, Woodlands Nature Station, and The Homeplace...

...The parking aprons and interior roads are gravel.,,

... An RV waste station, with potable water, is available at North Welcome Station on State Rt. 453 - no fee...

... RVrs can turn around at end of campground in parking area above boat ramp. Sites 26 through 29 are in an area beyond this turn-around. RVrs should not attempt access into these sites...

...Kentucky Lake is 160,300 acres..."
