Review # 1 by Camping With A View
We visited this campground on a day trip in late September 2006. This is a U. S. Army Corps of Engineers campground and is one of seven in the area. Camping Area A is arranged in an oblong circle. At one of the long sides of the circle is Lake Rathbun (actually a reservoir) and at the opposite side is a pretty grassy meadow. We liked both the lake view sites and the prairie/meadow view sites. All sites have electric hook-up and in general have fair to good separation. Since the lake view and prairie/meadow view sites are bordered by the lake or meadow, there are no sites in front of you. The sites in the middle of the circle offer little privacy between sites. Camping area B is on a single row with sites on either side. This section of the campground offers more privacy between sites with views of a small prairie/meadow area, mixed evergreen and deciduous forest or the lake. See our recommendation of best sites at this campground in this campground's home page (click on "Home" within the campground menu bar above).
