Review # 1 by Camping With A View
We visited this campground on a day trip in late June 2006. Typical of other Florida State Park campgrounds, the campground is very well designed and maintained. St. Andrews campground is on the north side of St. Andrews State Recreation Area overlooking Grand Lagoon on the Gulf of Mexico. It's a large campground with approx. 175 sites and many of the sites are close together. Although there are beautiful views of the Lagoon, there is a beach front high rise development that can be seen from the campground on the opposite side of the Lagoon.
There are two campground loops - Grand Lagoon and Pine Grove. Some sites that have excellent views of the water with fairly good separation between them are 2, 118, 132 134, and 142-147. There are many other sites with water views as well, but the separation is not as good. Even numbered sites 2 - 38, 72-80, 86-98 (except 94) in the Lagoon loop and even numbered sites 102 - 134 in the Pine Grove loop all should have water views. Most of the odd numbered sites are one row back from the water and do not have good water views.
