"...The campground, located on the northeastern edge of the Mount Zirkel Wilderness and adjacent to Big Creek Lakes, is composed of two sections. The first section is on the left and is the smallest with two loops (camping sites 43 through 54). Sites 43 through 45 are right on the lake shore and at a boat ramp. It is heavily wooded, mostly with Lodgepole pines. The second section, with the majority of sites in the campground, is straight ahead and is composed of overlapping loops. Due to a recent mistletoe infestation and a blowdown, many of the sites are in the open. However, the resulting vistas of the lake and mountains (Mount Zirkel Wilderness) are breathtaking. Here, besides Lodgepole pines, Subalpine fir are in abundance. The campground is a classic example of a forest experience for the whole family. It is rugged and rough, but comfortable and relaxing with its varied water sports, hiking and wonderful vistas. Not to be outdone, the drive to the campground, mostly on a level dirt road, is through open range with picturesque views of the countryside...

... There is an RV waste station in Walden, CO. Take 4th St. east to its end. Turn left and go past the high school. The waste station is at the next corner. A donation is requested and there is potable water..."
