"...This attractive campground, located in the Giant Sequoia National Monument of the Sequoia National Forest, has two overlapping loops in a stand of mixed conifers. Some sites overlook a lush meadow. Most camp sites are close together but shrubs provide fair to good privacy. Sorry, no Aspens in the campground. Campground is convenient for exploring the Sequoia trees of Freeman Creek Grove (includes President George Bush tree). Possible day trips are the Needles rock formation and lookout, Dome Rock, Poderosa Lodge for atmosphere and a cook's night out (gas and limited groceries too), Golden Trout Pack Station, and Camp Nelson with its annual Mountain Festival usually held during the first week of August. Check with the Ranger District Office for information...
