Beautiful View:   Arid Landscape, Rock Formations and Mountains

Lone Pine campground is located between the Alabama Hills and Mt. Whitney and is on the banks of Lone Pine Creek. The landscape is arid with boulders, sagebrush and other desert vegetation.

Best Sites: Per ranger district personnel, all sites should have views of the arid landscape; most sites should have views of the rock formations; and many sites have views of Mt. Whitney, the Sierra Mountains or the Alabama Hills. This campground is very popular and fills up. About 60% of the sites are reservable and 40% are first-come-first-serve.
