"...A real out of the way place but so is the area. You need to travel about 3 miles of washboard gravel road to get there. But its worth it. Management was friendly and helpful. Sites were a bit rough but spaced nicely apart.... A great place to stay while hunting up that rare bird to photograph...."

"...This park is at the base of Steens Mountain in the middle of the southeast Oregon outback. the views are magnificent and the wildlife is plentiful. It is next to the Malheur Wildlife Refuge and bird sanctuary. The campground is a tiny bit rough, but this would be expected in an area like this...."
