Below is a description of Peppertree campground from campground owner - Trudy Ziegler:

From your campsite on the sparkling clear, Natchaug River, you will enjoy the sounds & sights of the water as it flows over the rocks. You may see trout, as they swim in the Trophy Trout River, stocked by the state. The variety of wildlife and birds, trees & flowers is wonderful, & too numerous to list. Directly across from the river is the Natchaug State Forest, spectacular as the sun rises over the hills. A rock wall peeks through the trees and travels upward. Each season brings breathtaking colors in the local landscapes, including the views in and around Peppertree Camping. Campsites not on the river may overlook large green areas, surrounded by trees, and scattered colorful perennial flowers. On a clear night, the stars rival any light show. The natural beauty abounds here at Peppertree.
